A dumb question about my 4SE mount

I probably treat my 4SE mount like a newborn baby, but there is one thing that bugs me about the mount. The bolt for the dovetail clamp is oriented down so when attachning and removing scopes or cameras I have to reach around and under to turn the knob - it is a bit awkward, especially with numb fingers.

It would be less aesthetic but so much more practical if the knob was on top... would I break anything, or confuse the goto if I rotated the dovetail 180 degrees?

You can certainly turn the dec axis round as much as you like, not sure about any GOTO issues though, easy enough to try it.

I suspect that the dec axis just rotates freely and there would be no consequence, but it wouldn't be the first time I said "nothing can go wrong" followed shortly thereafter by a crash, bang or fizzle! :-)

In case anyone is interested, there were no negative consequences to rotating the dovetail 180 degrees. Goto still works fine.
