Backgarden Bargains

Hi all,

Inspired by all the talk on here about the AZ-4 I finally got one a few weeks ago off AB&S. It was a bargain price and is almost new. Works perfectly but the 90mm f14.4 was susceptible to gusts on it, so started thinking about a shorter tube to mount on it.

Then along came a Celestron C100ED at the right price (= bargain) also from AB&S. It's in good used condition with very clean optics. Add the two together and I get Bargain #1 + Bargain #2 = Super-Bargain!

Great little combo for backgarden lunar, double star and planetary, and I can pack the ED100 away easily to take to dark sites with my Vixen GP too. Totally chuffed! :D

It does indeed. Fine-tuning the balance is critical but once done it is easy to use. I'd like to get tube rings instead of the wierd clamshell bondage accessory thing, but other than that it's good to go!

PS Good for quick solr looks too with Baader filter or Hershel Wedge...
