Good seeing tonight.

My first view of Mars. The sky has light cloud cover so the view wasn't great and the street lights really spoilt the party. I could see colours and a bright spot which I take to be the ice cap. Note to self, get out to somewhere dark and buy a good planetary EP.

Had my first view of mars a couple of hours ago. It was still down in the murky stuff so i wasn't expecting much. A damn sight better than the orangey star i'm used to seeing. The disk has grown massively over the past couple of months. I could easily see the polar cap, and a dark feature right next to it, nothing aside from that though.

Had i spent more time at the eyepiece i may have got more, but it was only a quick pitstop on the way home from work, just to get a "first mars" with my new scope.
