Mak 127 on a photography tripod?

I have a top-end carbon fibre tripod which I use with a spotting scope. I was wondering if it would be suitable for a Mak 127 for casual viewing?

In my view (no pun intended) terrestrial viewing only.

Take a look at the rigidity to the tripod & head combined.

Only 0.5deg of movement takes you from one side of the moon to the other.

If you had a short tube refractor for wide views, maybe. But not a Mak.

Agreed. The long FL is the killer. Also the pivot is in the wrong place, under the scope. The altitude bearing on an astro mount is on a virtual axis through the scope.

Thanks for the replies. I'm tending towards getting some 15x70 bins instead. I think they'd be better than a small scope.
