Carl Zeiss 8x30s

Recommended Posts

Hi Steve, sounds like a nice buy. I use 8x30s myself on occasional birdwatching trips as they are light to carry.

I recall the the Zeiss binos came with a leather case, if so, how about using ordinary shoe polish ?

Regards, Ed.

I have a pair of those - also from a charity shop !

The casing (the sort of black dimpled finish ?) can be gently wiped with a damp cloth I reckon, than wiped dry. Don't touch the lenses unless they really need attention.

They are lovely birding binoculars - very crisp, bright image.

John

Thanks - I'm hoping they might be good for M45 etc, beehive, where the scope is a bit restricted in f-o-v. Have avoided touching optics (seem ok anyway, better than the ones I returned to ebay b/c not even forming a single image!)
