Could anyone help me plese with finding Mercury? I was using Stelarium to get idea where it should be but it was not there :) Because Mercury was yesterday only a thin crescent I though this might explain why I could not find it. Or not?

Thanks for help

hmmm... a tricky one.

Try 10pm tonight. If you are able to see it, it will be in the NW only 9 degrees up. The sky will be light, and mercury will not, but you might manage it in good binos.

Mercury is difficult at the best of time. Your best chance of seeing it naked eye are in April and May, when the sunset ecliptic rises almost perpendicularly to the horizon. These are the times I have seen it most often. I have been trying the last few nights, but with no success. Last saw it on May 20th.
