Battle against condensation...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wondered what everyone when setting up outside.

I have always thought I should set up my scope early and leave the lens cap on to allow the whole scope to cool down without letting moisture near the lens...

Do you leave the cap on or off to prevent moisture on the mirrors?

I take my dob out, take the caps off and leave it for a bit, it only mists up when I bring it back in. when taking the scope outside I presume the mirrors will be warmer than the surrounding atmosphere so won't mist up, not had a problem yet with condensation on the mirrors.
