Darks, Flats & Bias Question

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Do I need a unique set of darks, flats & bias frames for each imaging session?

Or would a set of masters suffice?

I have been taking equal darks to lights and about 20-30 bias and flats at a time.

Thanks in advance

darks need to match gain/ISO, exposure time and temperature.

bias just needs to match gain/ISO

flats is all about the bits above the silicon chip. If you can replicate the exact positions and orientations of every optical surface in the light path, you can work off a library but dust keeps moving around...
