I think I've decided on the 200p Dobsonian, and if I decide to take photos at some point, I'll buy myself a nice EQ mount for it.

I'd second what others have said and definitely not rush into buying stuff. I've been dallying about over equipment for the last year. After going to my local astronomy club and looking through some great telescopes I discovered that I actually I really like binoculars and have only now just ordered a much more powerful pair.

Don't know what the Llidl bins are like. When I first got my 7dayshop 12x50s I thought they were quite good but now realise they're actually pretty bad. I wouldn't buy cheap again.

For me the really nice thing about binoculars is the fact you can just go out, or even just stick your head out of a window at any time with no preparation.
