Each frame is the result of stacking (Registax4) about 40-50 frames out of a 40second capture at 15 fps.

ToUcam Pro 740K at prime focus (900mm), 4.5" aperture (f/8), full aperture Baader solar filter. Captured with K3CCDTools.

One pixel is about 1000km.

Lessons: Next time try exposures 30mins apart and do something about field rotation.

I realize that I also caught in my files the two little black dots you can see on the right half of the disk in this photo but I haven't included them in the animation.

As you say a longer time lapse might be better, on a clear sunny day

might pick up some interesting stuff

I should probably have stretched the histogram as well for the final animation, it could do with more contrast. I used 1,1,1,30,30,30 for the wavelets.
