Hi David - yes I had a go with the 2x barlow last night. Managed to get some subs on M1 the Crab, fortunately the guiding was working really well last night so the results look sharp enough and the image scale is brilliant. However, as this effectively increased the scope to F.10, data was faint and I'll have to go for longer subs when I have more time (we were entertaining last night so I only had a short session).

Having looked at the subs, I'm not sure that it would actually give me any improvement over my previous crab image taken without the barlow, cropped and enlarged. The Eskimo may be a different matter though as it's so much smaller.

An experiment I will definately return to.:D
