Finally tried out my new GSO EP's WOW the difference between these and the SW supplied ones was massive. M42 & M43 were so clear and amazing.

Jupiter was really good even with the SW Barlow, note to self must get a better one.

Unfortunately tho about an hour and a half in to viewing one of the tripod legs on my SW EQ1 began to collapse, it appears that the plastic sleeve that holds the locking nut is split and will no longer tighten up.

Gonna have to bodge it up for the moment.

I can see that each of the legs can be removed separately but does anyone know where I can get just a leg?

Thats a shame, you could give FLO a ring to see if they have any spare bits and pieces

All you need is a jubilee clip or a 'U' shaped bolt (the kind used for putting up TV aerials) to replace the broken plastic collar.

Should be able to get these from any DIY store.

I had the same problem with my last scope. I used a jubilee clip.

The collar has split along the hole where the bolt tightens.

Every time I tighten it it pulls the metal nut out.

Did yours also do this?
