libraryman
Hi Jesper, yes, it is unfortunatly it's my 1st real attempt at flats and i 'm not sure it's any good!rather perplexed by the coloured fringes i wonder if it could be caused by the reducer fitted or the camera???Ray
Jessun
I'm no expert, but it could be something just a tiny bit out of alignment . Try the flats out on your lights and you'll probably find that they work well to counteract that misalignment. Remember that if you move anything at all you need to redo the flats. Euan
I'm not sure about the histogram as I don't use Photoshop, but I've seen gradients like that before from LP filters on fast scopes, where you using one?
libraryman
Hi guy's thank for the imput, in the meantime iv'e eradicated the reducer as the cause of the gradients, i took some test flats with a PC backlight screen, without the reducer, the gradients were actually worse. The light pollution filter is the next item to remove then test again, it's a Astromik clip filter for eos cameras. The attched is a test shot and focus might be well out but it clearly shows the colour gradients.Ray
libraryman
The test flats attached are better i think, the gradients are caused by the lp filter.apart from not using it anyone have any suggestions?Ray
