John Posted January 11, 2012 Share Posted January 11, 2012 Hi,Try using the scope with just the lowest power (magnification) eyepiece in it - thats the one with the highest number in mm on it - something like 20mm or 25mm I expect. If you have a thing called a barlow lens or an erecting eyepiece don't use those for now - just the single low magnification eyepiece.When you are adjusting the focus do it slowly - it is very easy to miss the point of sharpest focus. vincent1cat Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 I had a Celestron 130 for Christmas as well and I've just got the Moon in full focus. I couldn't find it at all for a fortnight! Try and focus sharply on an object such as a chimney-stack during the daytime . It might get easier now the Moon is waning and not so bright. Us newcomers must stick together.
