Hyperion Eye Cup Issue

Chiron

Recommended Posts

I've recently bought a 10mm Hyperion (which is very nice) but I'm finding that the twist up eye cup is stiff to twist up, such that I've managed to pull it off the body once (and lose in the process, found it the next morning though). Has anyone else experienced this with Hyperions before? Does the eye cup become more pliable over time with use, or do I need to look to some way of fixing it to the body?

Thanks

I#ve got 6 Hyperions and not one of them has TWIST UP eye cups, they just fold down to allow you to affix the dust cap when you'e finished with it. When you use it again you just remove dust cap and unfold it. if the ruber is a litter brittle you could try removing it from the eyepiece and soaking it in warm water for a few minutes, that would soften the rubber.

I agree with Ian - the Hyperion eye cups are not the twist up kind. You can remove them to reveal a thread the use for which I forget but they are not adjustable other than being folded up or down.
