minimum usable telescope aperture for light pollution filters?

I've been reading up on light pollution filters and there seems to be a consensus that there is a general dimming of brightness that comes with the enhancement of the view.

What is your experience with these filters on small telescopes? Does it still reveal more detail despite a potential drop in brightness?

The first thing you notice using a light pollution filter is the darker sky back-ground, I have used them in a smallish aperture (100mm) and they are useable and helpful on occasions, the best one I find is the Orion Skyglow filter as it has a broader bandpass so lets in more light, but the disadvantage is that it is more expensive.
