Moon filter advice

Recommended Posts

Hi Hugh, I'm relatively new to this but I can offer advice on the things I've tried. My moon filter is one that arrived in a celestron eyeopener kit and I find it more useful for venus. For the moon I use a Baader Fringe Killer which gets shot some of the brightness and all the chromatic abberation at higher mag. If you don't mind the extremely red/orange image then I find my celestron No 21 filter (46% light transmission) useful as the contrast is excellent - but very red! That does seem a good price for a filter though and it should take care of the brightness. Huw
