That's a cracker!! absolutely fantastic detail :icon_salut: imagine what you will be able to achieve under perfect conditions. From what I am learning I think every etalon is very different in it's tuning, you look like you have a perfect match! your PST and this SM40 were made for each other.

Just pouring with rain here on top of all the snow so we have cold wet sludge instead :)

Snow showers here too. They started last night, just after I'd got all set up and was preparing to image Jupiter and the Io transit.:icon_salut: Isn't astronomy fun? lol

As far as the double stack - yes, I'm dead chuffed with it. I also had a chance to try out the SM40 with the BF5, but the PST double stack easily wins. The SM40 on its own seems little different to a single stacked PST.

Great shots! Glad that double stack is working for you!

Thanks Mark. BTW I didn't need a reducing ring after all - the SM40 screwed on no bother. I used the two rings I had though to make an adapter for use with the ST102 and BF5. Judging by the results of the double stack PST though I doubt very much whether I will use that combo.
