Dob Mods with instructions..

Hi, Am new here and have bought a Skywatcher Skyliner 250px flextube. I want to do some Mod's for it, The OTA needs a counter weight to balance the scope as at certain points the ota drifts downwards no matter how tight the tension handles are. I also want some flocking material that wont flake off onto the primary. And would like some ideas for any other mods that can be done..

At the base of the ota where the primary mirror holder is with the collimation knobs are there are 4 pre drilled holes where a fan could be possable fitted. How and where can I find this .

Hi Blinky - a Wixey and an Azimuth setting circle make a very accurate pointing system. You can get magnets that serve as great counterweights for the tube - cover them in felt or thin rubber so you don't scratch it. A computer case fan will help with balancing too. Hope that helps
