Ah sorry Merlin missed that part somehow thought it was about Deep Sky pics.

DSLR and planetary is not very good option imo as u wont get enough magnification even with barlow at least not with 8" f/5 scope such as 200P, If i remember right Canon 30D + 200P scope gives about 38x mag

So for planetary as someone said here consider webcam i got LifeCam from ebay for 35Euro i think :)

I agree. Attached is an image of Jupiter taken with a EOS 1000D through a 8" f/5 newtonian. That's how small Jupiter looks.

Webcams have a much smaller sensor area. The same image of Jupiter projected onto a smaller sensor will look bigger when viewed on a computer.
