Hi.

Not sure if in the correct section so here goes.....

Looking at getting a UHC filter (either Baader or Skywatcher) and was just wondering how they fit in the ep and do these filters fit all makes of ep?

Currently have standard ep's at the mo but will be upgrading in the near future, so just concerned about how they fit etc.

Cheers guys,

Daz.

EP's and filters come in 2 sizes:1.25" & 2"

Once the EP has a similar size thread (1.25 or 2") to the filter they will fit each other no matter what brand you use. Your scope has a 1.25" focuser therefor it takes 1.25" EP's.

I'm sure that if you want to upgrade in the future that you could put a 2" focuser on the scope.

Hi Daz.

Fully agree with Luke's comment.

just a couple more comments to add.

The filters thread into the bottom of the ep. It is a very fine pitch thread so not good for cross threading with frozen fingers. Some low cost filters have a plastic body, so more caution is needed.

When fitting a filter to an ep for the first time, do it in daylight. I have had some 2nd hand eps with slightly damaged threads. Also new eps where the black paint has clogged the thread. In both cases a scrape with a hard sharp pointy thing has cleaned up the thread.

Hope this helps,

David.

Some filters have both male and female threads allowing you to stack two different types.
