Replacing battery compartments?

Recommended Posts

I have just received a Meade ETX-80AT (thanks Lee!)

As standard it comes with a battery compartment that takes 6x AA batteries (9v in total).

I can't see AAs lasting very long at all, so want to power the scope from my power tank. Thanks to Peter, I have purchased a convertor from Maplins which will take the 12v power tank down to 9v.

The next question is how to connect it. I don't want to cut wires etc, as it would be useful to put batteries in for w/ends away when the power tank is too much to take as well.

Is there some sort of connecter I can purchase instead? The battery compartment clips in with the sort of connector that you normally use with the rectangular 9v batteries (PP3)
