Hi at last managed to get my Orion delux off axis guider focused with my canon 1000d camera although the camara is closer to guider,to close for comfort,than the guider is but must be right as focused ok on both with moon.when it comes to finding guide star no chance with moon out and then when dark only just make out dim star on screen with full gain setting over the noise,phd does seem to keep track off it.why is the star so dim on screen? I no mirror in off axis guider is small but surely when on star should be as bright as was with my Philips cam,any suggestions.
