sw standalone guider problems

Recommended Posts

got a skywatcher standalone guider last week. first clear night tonight to use it. admittedly seeing is absolutely dreadful tonight hence me being back on the laptop.

however, the guider found no guide stars AT ALL. not a hint of anything, and that was through the 200.

pointed it at jupiter and it picked that up so it isnt a fault so to speak.

so is it poor seeing, or in general are these thigns not too good? seems like ive got no hope at all of using it with my finderguider scope if it cant even get a star through the 200.

is it worth flogging it and getting a qhy5 instead?
