Check your fasteners

Couldn't figure out why my 2nd hand scope would constantly lose alignment by varying degrees as the night progresses. Despite being perfectly level and having several error corrections based on the first several targets.

After reading the manual 50 times, pressing every button, resetting, fiddling, scratching my head and shouting at it, i thought 'hang on, the mount base is moving around'.

10 minutes later i discovered that the metal thread for the locking pin for one of the legs was moving out as i tightened the pin and the bolts holding all of the legs were very loose.

10 minutes later, using one Allan key and some Gorilla glue the mount is now rock solid.
