Tube Ring Issue

Hello,

Please excuse my ignorance but I have been trying to de-mount my 8 year old Vixen Achro from its AZ4 style mount.

Currently the tube rings are bolted direct to the mount but what I want to do is de mount it and add a Vixen style ADM dovetail bar to the rings and then mount it on my Giro III Alt/Az mount.

However here comes the conundrum The bolts used look like they are M6 bolts but the thread pitch is far courser.

The initial thought was that I could just use the current bolts to attach the dovetail but I suspect these will be too short and also looking a bit rusty after 8 years.

So the question is does anyone know A. what type of bolts these would be and B.Where I could source some longer ones?

Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question, engineering was never my strong point....

It could be that these are 1/4" Whitworth bolts - the same thread (or as near as makes no difference) as that used for the standard fitting for a camera and thus fitted to the top of camera tripods.

I have just compared the thread pitch and diameter of the bolts to the thread used on my tripods and its spot on so a big thanks for your help
