First Attempt at Moon and Jupiter Photos

Hi,

These are my first attempts at the moon and Jupiter. Being a complete novice it was a real eye opener as to how difficult this astrophotography lark is

The moon was very bright and pretty easy to focus on but I found it very difficult to focus and get any detail on Jupiter without huge amounts of glare.

They are just single shots with a Nikon D3000 in prime focus without any guiding.

Any advice for quick wins or feedback for where I'm going wrong would much appreciated.

tis a good start , i you will need a barlow for jupiter , dslr is not great for planets .

Planets are best shot with a CCD Camera,

hi there very nice have you considered a web cam? these phillips ones you can still get a few hundred frames with out guiding i do with my 300p and the results are great

you pics are great for you first go and you should be proud of them there great first pics
