Hi & welcome to SGL :D

It's already been suggested but I also recommend 'Turn left at orion' book and the 'stellarium' program. They are really good fro guiding you around the sky. If you have an android phone or tablet then Google Sky Maps is good too, and there's an equivalent for iphone called something else.
