Telescope going in the opposite direction

Hi

Using eq6 mount with eqmod, stellarium and stellarium scope.

At the moment I can click on Jupiter with stellarium and the mount will slew to it (telescope pointing east). If i then click on another star close to Jupiter with the telescope still pointing east and it needs to slew NE it will go SE and visa versa.

Does anybody have any ideas how this can be changed within Stellarium.

Or is it that it has been polar alligned wrong.

Hve you checked whether the target you are slewing to after Jupiter is on the other side of the meridian? If it is, the mount will go to it from the opposite direction.

Just an aside though, is there a problem with it doing this? Does it still get to the target regardless of how it gets to it?

Some scopes (Celestron for sure) have a switch in the menu that allows you to select a mode that reduces cord wrapping - taking the shortest route to the next target. That may help some.
