MOD for improving the SW Tension Control Handle

Does anyone have a mod for improving the Alt motion on the SW dob. I've done the Az motion & want to remove the sticky movement on the alt axis.

Two things for me have made the Alt motion smooth:

1) Good balancing. I've tried a few methods but the best solution for me has been some magnets that I can move up and down the tube. A piece of cardboard between the magnet and the tube prevents scratching. Magnets are cheap on ebay.

2) Some teflon mouse tape around the bearings the tube rests on - sourced on ebay again.

These were for my 200p.

I'm trying to make the handles nearly redundant - typically I use them only when I'm switching eyepieces, for that you need a balanced tube.

Thanks Skills. The PTFE tape (not the plumbers type) is a great idea. I could put it both on the stand bearings & the large OTA bits too.
