Collimating a laser collimator

How accurate does this need to be, I have adjusted to be within 2mm from a central point at about 15 feet. I use it on an f6 200mm skyline and 130p heritage. Does it need to be closer or is this good enough.

I am no expert (having only collimated my scope once since oweing it) but I would guess the more precise the better. I would not worry too much about the distance, by this I mean 15 feet, I would only worry about the distance from the eye peace to the mirror. If you can not tell any movement in your collimator from 2 foot then I would say you are good.

You should be fine with that - you are well aligned at about 3-5x focal length. You wont notice the 2mm over the focal length of your scopes. A final "out of focus star" tweak will get you perfect.

Note, though, that if you barlow the laser for aligning the primary then the laser doesn't have to be collimated at all.

2mm at 15' is pretty good!

You won't have any problems with that.
