Hi all.

I decided to see if I could capture M 101 tonight.

Whilst setting up my alignment I used Dubhe as one of my stars.

Well it looked so incredible I just had to take a 5000 frame AVI.

Put it through Registak 5 and this is the result.

Never got a decent go at M 101.

Far to much light polution and then the clouds rolled in so that was that.

Still I am well pleased with this.

Graham.

Hi Rik.

It is isn't it.

I think I have finally got this SBC2000 sorted (he says in hope. lol)

All I need to do now is refind the long exposer setting and I will be happy.

I was playing with the menue the other day and came across a sub menue that allowed for long exposer work with settings up to 60 seconds but I cannot for the life of me find it again.

If anyone knows how to get me back to it post it up please.

thank you

Graham

AFAIK the only way to get exposures longer than the min shutters speed (1/50s on PAL cams and 1/60s on the NTSC ones) is to use sens up...

If your using sens up to get long exposure then your not gaining a lot by stacking long video sequences in registrax because the vast majority of the frames will be identical...

If on the other hand your using it to stack longer sequences of short exposures for lunar/planetary then you may well see a benefit...

Hi Peter.

I have been reading a guys write up on these and his photos will blow you away.

What you need to do is convert the AVI's into separate BMP images.

You then select the best BMP's and put them through Registax or better still put them into DSS along with darks, bias ect and the results are stunning.

Examples of this guys work are in my other post.
