Here is a drawing of Jupiter - it was fairly low at the time so not a lot of detail to be seen as seeing was poor, however in moments of better seeing the GRS showed some interesting detail.

Takahashi FS-128 refractor with Zeiss Binoviewer at x180.

That detail near the GRS is interesting isn't it? I was out the night before and got the GRS for the first time this season. Noticed how pale it is (starting to look more like a hollow), and the brighter divisions in the SEB either side of the spot. Also, the behaviour of the darker material as it butts up against the GRS is fascinating.
