well im deciding to move away from my unweilding scopes and scale down and so im considering a mini scope instead (megres 72 or skywatcher 66 ect

has any one used a cam on one of these scopes

would a flatner be needed for just viewing? / capturing video?

The tiny sensor in the video cams will probably mean you can get away without the flattener...

You did spur me on to try something... namely trying the SCB-4000 on the TV-Pronto for a bit of digiscoping of the birds on the feeders... without the 0.5x reducer i can get the close focus using the 2" TV diagonal.. with the reducer there isn't enough inward travel so i had to remove the 2" diagonal and use a 1.25" one or a 1.25" extension..

According to the "literature" the Watec, GSTAR-EX give limiting magnitudes:

8mm f/0.8 lens : 8.5

135mm f/2.8 lens: 12.8

300mm f/4 lens: 13.6

80mm f/5 refractor: 14.2

Whatever! But always worthwhile trying old camera lenses...

Spanking NEW refractors etc. Particularly for wider fields. :p

Bought myself one of those TS (60mm/F3.8) "superfinders".

Rumoured not to be the "best" achromat <sigh> But... ;)
