SW 150P tube cap

Probably a daft question, but on the tube cap to my 150P there's a seperate smaller cap that comes off to leave a smaller hole.

What is this used for? Solar visuals?

Never look at the Sun directly!!!!

It is for looking at full moons (but a filter works better)

you can purchase some solar film and use this smaller aperture for solar observing. Making a filter out of the solar film for the smaller aperture will mean you have some left to keep as spare. As already mentioned never look directly at the sun without filters
