Focal Reducer??

I have just bought an 0.6x focal reducer so I can get a picture of the whole moon instead of half the moon.

I fitted it to my 2x barlow lens and put the barlow lens on my camera but I cant focus on the moon, all i can see is a cross infront of the out of focus moon.

Could someone please help me on where I am going wrong??

The reducer shouldn't be fitted to a barlow!

The barlow increases the focal length..the reducer does the opposite.

You need to fit the reducer (without the barlow) to the nosepiece infront of the camera.

Rather than use a reducer for the moon, take lots of 'panes' covering the whole of the moon and stitch together in a mosaic. Use something like Microsoft ICE - Google it and it's free.

ICE will automatically stitch the panes together for you. Simples!
