Temporary observatory / light pollution shielding

Recommended Posts

Has anybody experimented with temporary observatories (e.g. Tents, gazebos, awnings, etc.) or light pollution shielding?

Due to fences and trees the best place to observe from in my garden is smack in the middle - so a permanent observatory is not really an option. I wondered if it would be worth rigging up some temporary screens (canvas or tarpaulin for example) to block out the worst of the LP from my neighbours. I have tried getting under a large sheet of darkroom fabric (covering me and the eyepiece end of the scope) - this is an improvement, but rather awkward!

Anyone got any ideas? :)
