Bahtinov Masks: I've had an idea

Whilst reading a thread yesterday, where Ben (Rocketandroll) and Peter (Psychobilly) were discussing the pros and cons of B. Masks and Y masks, I had an idea:

Instead of faffing about cutting the mask out, why not print the (negative) mask onto clear acetate sheet? Sandwich it between two pieces of card. Job done.

The only snag I can see at the moment is you might get unwanted reflections.

I can't be the first person to come up with this idea, surely?

NO your not the first ... and yes it does work ... how well though ....?

I did look at vinyl cut masks on acetate but never took it anywhere... I have indirect access to a laser cutter so have always had metal ones made...

I've cut mine from card, cardboard and laminated paper and all seem to work ok - gave me something to do on a rainy day in 09 :-)

I've tested their accuracy using the focussing aid in nebulosity to compare.
