how do i find a star's SAO number

Hi,

I am a real newby and have been having great fun with The Cambridge Star Atlas. I'm slowly finding my way around and mostly use my goto as an aid when I can't fin d something myself,The Stars in the Atlas all have numbers with a greek prefix or just a number.

Now the problem is my mount has a goto which will go to almost any SAO number and only a few others. How can I convert the numbers in The Cambridge Star Atlas to SAO numbers ?

Not sure what number your atlas uses, but on Catalog Selection Page you can search DM, HD & GC, or by RA/DEC
