Wicked heat lightning show.

Just spent awhile watching the freakiest heat lightning show I've seen. Imagine many many flashes of lightning in a row non stop for a few hours not moving hardly at all, and it's still going on. Anyone else seen anything like this?

yeah in 1999 massive electrical storm went on for hours, best light show i ever did see...................kev

Yea... I live in Tampa, and in the summer mornings sometimes you can see the big thunderheads that are high in the sky to the west over the Gulf of Mexico and the lightning just rolls back and forth and above them you can see a beautifully starlit sky... QUITE AWESOME.... The best shows are by Nature and they are free !!!

There was a huge lightening storm over East Devon about 3 years ago. We watched it for a couple of hours around midnight, not realising that a few miles down the road, the town of Ottery St Mary was being inundated by several feet of hail stones. Some of the houses were very badly flooded.

This was right over our heads... no sound, no rain, just lots and lots of lightning.

That must have been really spectacular, I would love to have seen it. Mind you, I should be careful what I wish for, as there are thunderstorms forecast for my area over the next few days.

It was indeed. I've seen this once before but from a distance, this time it was more spectacular. Cause it was close up .
