Baader RGB and IR Cut set

I guess you'll need a wheel or a slide drawer because you are working against time on the planets because of rotation. Most folks put the UV/IR in the nosepiece in front of the wheel.

Very quick! I believe the maximum is about 3 minutes before you get noticeable rotation on Jupiter.

Even with a filter wheel I'd be hard pressed to get four lots of avis at that rate!

Say 2000 frames per channel to get detail at 30 FPS is roughly 67 seconds per channel, times 4 channels is 4 and three quarter minutes.

I'm doomed before I start! :)

S/H filter wheel should only set you back £65 or so? Even less if the right deal comes up :(

I know Hugh! I think that's where the newer 60fps cameras will help hugely on Jupiter, you can get a decent amount of data in a much shorter space of time. If I get round to it, I might try and experiment with using my I-Nova for mono and the webcam for colour and try and process them in the same way as I do for LRGB DSO imaging. That's if I can get both sets of data done quick enough!

It certainly going to be "challening"....

I might have a spare Kson wheel somewhere not brilliant but better than nothing If I do I'll let you know...

Peter..

Ah, Peter, you're a good man. Thank you kindly. If you have, PM me a price please?

Cheers.

I know I gave a few away... But might have one left in a box in the office...

Found one in the Obs...

Took it apart to make sure the installed filters (Planetary and Nebula Interference filters) could be unscrewed (they could) and the nosepiece is threaded so you can filt the UV/IR block to it and ther RGB filters into the wheel...

DwwxBo6

I'll pack it back in the box in pieces...

It could do with a bit of Fettling/fiddling and you might need to cover the open bottom slot somehow...(cloth works...)

PM me your postal addy and its yours.. FOC...

Peter...
