M51 Supernova?

Dann

Recommended Posts

I had my first go at capturing a Galaxy last night, it was more of a test to see what kind of length subs I could take unguided.

No calibration frames this time, just 12x 90sec subs. I was pleased how much detail came out in just a few minutes. The next clear night ill have a go at it properly.

Would someone more knowledgeable than me be able to confirm weather or not the point of light on the bottom outer arm is the latest supernova?

Thanks

Danny

Nice capture. I lucked into it myself when I was testing a new camera and pointed it at M51 without knowing the supernova was there. When I heard I checked and there it was. It seems dimmer than when I saw it first, but still clearly there.
