Barlow lens.

Recommended Posts

Can someone confirm to me that using a 2x Barlow between the scope and the diagonal will give 3x magnification, and used after the diagonal will yield 2x? Is this correct?

Yes and no, it is the spacing between the eyepiece and the barlow that determines the magnification given, so the diagonal is being used as an extension tube. This will give you more than the normal X2, but to say X3 is just an approximation.
