Can I get away with a C9.25 on an EQ5?

Or should I limit myself to a C8?

I have picked up a black EQ5 with tubular legs (presumably stainless steel) for a reasonable price. Unfortunately it came with a blue-tube startravel 150 attached to it :D

Now, I am mainly a planetary astronomer - faint fuzzies just don't do it for me so far - so this is exactly the wrong scope for me. I need more focal length so the best option seems to be to sell the ST150 and put the proceeds towards a C8/C9.25. Or a skymax 150/180 :hello2:

This is for visual and webcam imaging only :)

Looking like a C8 then... or skymax 180.

I just wondered because the weight of the C9.25 OTA is the same as the weight limit of the eq5 - about 9kg.

I'm going to try out the ST150 for a little while - it's not like I'll ever get the chance again.
