Polaris, Albireo and Vega with SLR

Recommended Posts

First time with stars using a 1000D...

Got this snap of Polaris. Trying to figure out if the oddities are evidence of the smaller stars in the system eclipsing it or something?

Also had a shot at Albireo but wound up compromising exposure owing to tracking trouble. Not as clean as lukebl's Albireo but better than nothing. I'd like to go for that one again...

My best Vega shot yet though. (Suspected Delta Scuti?)

Hi King

The colour difference in Alberio has come out nicely.

Can I ask what exposure settings you used? Is that just a single sub or did you stack a few together?

That particular one I think was 0.5 seconds, single sub with the ISO at 800. When I get more consistent I'd like to do a stacked version. I just recently got a DSLR camera so have yet to get familiarised with anything other than single stills. Actually, I think I'll look that up right now. Cheers for bringing that up!
