Currently my goto part of my scope is useless seeing how I can only see 1 bright star at any given time of the night... or is it? All of the other stars in my neighborhood are always behind trees or houses is there something I can do to get it aligned even when I can't see stars or do I just have to wait till more bright stars come up in areas I can see them with?

Don't know about your system, so this may be of no use, but on mine:

Make sure everything is level

Do 'one-star align' and accept (or 'solar system align' using a planet)

Slew to a second star from named star list (which may or may not be on the list of 'alignment' stars)

Centre the star and use the ALIGN function to make it a second alignment point

Job done

This is how I align my celestron scopes, so may not work on Orion.
