dslr with extension tube between sensor and lens?

if i use an extension tube on my 400d with 50-250mm lens, will i be able to get a 'bigger' image on the chip, ie zoom in more?

I want to be able to get a bigger image of the moon, will an extension tube help me?

No. That arrangemet would be useful for macro imaging ie flowers/ insects etc.

You'd need to add a x2 convertor to your lens...
