solar filter project

hi all,

yesterday i made a solar filter for my 150p. I appreciate it doesnt look all that but hopefully it will do its job well. the corks keep it tightly hugging around the end of the scope.

can i ask tho, does the filter itself have to be perfectly smooth, or can it have some dimples like in mine. ive yet to try it out to find out!

EDIT* oh dear, i seem to have reduced the picture quality too much! haha. will try and sort it

Have just been playing with my filter sheet, all OTA's have now got filters, plus I had a camers lens filter holder and that has now been remodded for solar. With some of the sheet left over I have also taken out the colour filters in a 3D specs and put in some solar film .

The Film doesnt have to be flat .. and shouldnt be too tight...

Looks OK to me.

Just make 100% sure it's securely fixed to the tube.
