Anyone know what the difference are between these 2 scopes.

Is it purely from a photographic stance?

I think it means the DS has a dual speed focuser. Coarse and fine.

Ah and a shorter tube to allow focussing with cameras

No real difference between them during visual use but the PDS is much more suited to imaging because of a shorter focal point and larger secondary mirror. The duel speed focuser is handy for both visual and imaging so could be deemed worth while paying the extra for whether you intend to do imaging or not.
