K3ccd tools help,please

I thought I would give K3 a try so I downloaded and installed the trial version of ver,3.5.No problem capturing video in the software but it will not load any avi files for processing.Error message reads {failed to load avi file } . Any suggestions?Other programs such as Registax load the same avi files with no problem.
